11 Rules You Didn't Learn in School

11 Rules You Didn't Learn in School

Really expresses how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world

Rule 1: "Life is not fair."

Rule 2: "The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself."

Rule 3: "You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a… Continue

My Annie Leibovitz story.

I wasn't aware of the sad situation photographer Annie Leibovitz was in until I read Hol's blog. It brought back a flood of memories regarding three encounters I had with Annie Leibovitz. They were very meaningful for me, though I am doubtful that she would remember me.

After I discovered my love for photography, I also discovered that I enjoyed taking pictures at concerts. I went to a lot of concerts in the '70's. The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, to name a few.… Continue

I Did It!

I did it... I bought...it.....and I have experienced it...

While browsing for low-fat snacks I happened across a jar that caught my eye. It was a clear jar with a white wrapper on the outside. The jar was about 3-4 inches high with a few images on the front but nothing too flashy. It was a seven letter word that called my name...I threw it in my cart after checking its "important" calorie information.

When I came home I unscrewed the white lid as the jars contents called… Continue

Does Bisexuality Exist?

Does Bisexuality Exist as a type of sexuality?

Or is it simply a transition phase?

It's convenient to be bisexual, it's more socially tolerable to some, and in some cases, it can be used to brush off pure gay tendencies, ie Suzie and Sparkle just made out, but Suzie's college mates would scoff at the idea, unless she was simply just drunk and experimenting and as long as she went back to her boyfriend the next day.

Is saying that one is bisexual, simply saying… Continue

Been a bit blocked lately

and I don't mean constipated....

I have not been able to bring myself to write a blog for the last few weeks.. even responding to blogs seems to have become difficult for me... again. I have begun to respond to some really good ones,,, Syds blog about her disbelief in romantic love and now Ram's blog about gun violence.

I'm forcing myself to write this and I probably won't make a bit of sense because what ever comes out is getting posted...

There are things going… Continue

Can MoarVideo.TV Be the Next LiveVideo?

A friend got in touch with me about MoarVideo today.

He says it's got the "good ol' days" feel to it when LiveVideo was in full swing, before all the duh-rama hit and the site fell into shadow. lol

Now normally I wouldn't give it much thought but this was a person who'd been targeted by the drama-folk more than once and for him to have said all this meant I should at least take a look at it. I checked it out and I can't really tell, though.… Continue

How y'all doin'?

Video? What video? I've actually stopped saying "one of these days" since it's been more like months.

I commit to nothing.

I'm sorry but its really hard to come up with a video when you have songs from the Noggin network stuck your head. My wife actually caught me singing one unconsciously this morning. Yeah, it's that bad.

But anyway, I assume all is variously well with the rest of you. I remain well, relatively speaking. I have many irons in the fire,… Continue

When All My Friends Were Musicians

I attended the first meeting of a guitar class today, Beginning Guitar. I knew from the description of Intermediate Guitar that that is really where my skill level is at, but everything I know is self-taught. I thought it would be a good idea to end my life-long, half-assed approach to the instrument and learn to do it right, and from the beginning.

I learned to play guitar when I was in high school because I had to. No, not because my parents forced me to take… Continue

Sigh..

The level that some people operate at never ceases to amaze me. My Mom and I have a couple

we pay to help us..light cooking, cleaning, etc. They also have full use of my Mother's car, and we pay their car insurance..they don't own their own car and the woman, (not wife, they aren't married, just living together), is on state assistance, which is paying for their rental house. When we started using them, things were fine..they were more than helpful. Then some weird stuff started happening.… Continue

in continuous thought

ever thought all day long endlessly in thought but not really getting anywhere

i've been thinking lately and everytime i think i keep reminising about my past

i keep having flashbacks of when i was younger and how much i want to be that guy again

not that me in my "grown up" phase is a bad thing i just had less to worry about when i was younger

im guessing thats the same with most of us as children we were care free and had no worries about the future or where we are… Continue

Why I like going to Costco

There is nothing more sexy than married, middle aged mothers buying groceries for her family. Think about it. They are young, fertile, not afraid to commit, and you know she puts out. As I wander around, and around eating samples, my eyes often will fix on some overburden mother with baby in tow. The sweat pants she wears conforming to the curves of her womanly butt. Her hair pulled back in a practical pony tail you imagine pulling from behind. What does she buy? Is it trail mix for her healthy… Continue

I just wanted to give yall a smidge of an update on my life. I suppose I'll start with school. I dropped Joan Cusack's class. Finally. I get to sleep later because of it, too. Secondly, I took my first test in poli sci and didn't do so well.. Thirdly is something I'm really proud of. I've constantly struggled with the way I write. I'm a junior in college and I've taken English 101 (freshman composition) three… Continue

The big paint brush

You ever notice that when the government wants to spend billions, on social programs, they take a one size fits all approach. Let's talk about health care for the poor. Most Americans have pretty good health insurance. A national health program would take away that good insurance for lousy government politic constructed insurance. The big paint brush. Why not ask why do these people not have insurance. Most are illegal aliens who get free health care from the emergency room. I work in a… Continue

Actually, I've been saying this all along. But it doesn't stop me from pulling my computer out every time my butt hits a chair. I often think about the ramifications of all this "online-ness" on my kids. When I was their age, a computer at home was so space age! Offices didn't even have them. (I'm giving away my age here!!)

We are a four-computer family. Three of us live… Continue
