Can MoarVideo.TV Be the Next LiveVideo?

A friend got in touch with me about MoarVideo today.
He says it's got the "good ol' days" feel to it when LiveVideo was in full swing, before all the duh-rama hit and the site fell into shadow. lol

Now normally I wouldn't give it much thought but this was a person who'd been targeted by the drama-folk more than once and for him to have said all this meant I should at least take a look at it. I checked it out and I can't really tell, though. There are some real quality people there, but then there are some well-known bad asses, too.

I never joined primarily because Vloggerheads came about before Dunk got his site going and I felt overwhelmed as it was and decided to try to keep things simple. Also, there were those rascally types there that I was only familiar with by reputation alone and felt maybe they might go in that lulzy direction (which I wanted no part of).

So tell me....those of you who have been members there...would you agree with my friend?

What's your take on it?

you do realize that just recently ip's were being dropped on users there? or did you miss those videos?

@Lima- I was watching some vids on there just now and someone mentioned it.

@Lima- I guess Beth (Hundamit) was being harassed, too, but that's what my friend referred to- that the community handled it really well and stood behind her, as did Duncan.

I am a member of The Ark, Blam and Moar. Blam is very drama-oriented and I tend to ignore a lot of it. I do consider Mac to be a personal friend and although I don't always agree with some of what he does or says, he's a decent and honest person. You always know where you stand with Mac and he isn't two-faced. I can't say the same for Duncan unfortunately. When Duncan was getting off the ground with Moar, I tried to talk to him about something that had happened. He didn't apologize for it and blew me off. I haven't been back since. I guess you don't have any problems on Moar until you disagree with Duncan or complain about something. And the whole dropping IPs? Well that was just wrong. I don't feel safe there like I do on The Ark.

So thank you Syd for keeping The Ark a safe and comfortable place for all of us. It's my favorite Ning site.

I just deleted my account over there because I got an email that basically said that if I didn't participate by commenting, posting, etc., they would ban me. I like it here. I don't go to any other sites. If this one goes away, I think my (already waning) video career will probably be over....!

@Dunleavy- Blam looks slick. I think I followed a link in LV's bulletin and it took me there and I thought- dang, this must cost a pretty penny for Mac!

@Christine- Well, I'm glad you're liking it here! I wonder why MMM sent that email? When I went to visit, there seemed to already be a whole lot of engagement...that's partly why I'm curious if people think it might have that potential. I think the ARK might be just the right size... the difference, I think, is we're not competing or we're not having to worry about turning a profit somewhere down the line...

@Poe- Wow, I lurked there for quite some time. My IP can only be traced to my city, though, and I change it all the time. That's funny that they have to approve the Ning site embeds when that's all we DO here, is embed from our own private Ning sites!!! lol

@Ruth-I enjoy this connection with you. I've whittled my online time down to about an hour and a half a day. Not bad.
