The Ark

Whatever floats your boat...

Ruth's lazy response to Pyper's challenge welcoming Mike to the Ark.

I was all set to make a "real" welcome video but found this vlog that I had totally forgotten about. Lucky me!

Notice how I'm trying to hide a massive zit. I'm effin' 50 (on Saturday) for goodness sakes. Does it never end?!

Welcome, Mike. I love you, John and Amy!

The silent caretaker is a very fulfilling job and much appreciated by those being cared for...thank you John for being Amy's silent caregiver, and Tall Tree of strength. Gee, I had the same EXACT zit, same exact spot, when I visited Amy. Thought it was my new medication at the time, but the same one keeps coming back...Oh the 40's filled with wonder and SURPRISE! RULE:if you never had a zit as a teen, pay later. i gotta find or do something for Mike but all i keep thinkin is about kickin Old liver's azz.

sweet video.  I figured Pen to be strong and kind.  NatureJunkie met him and she told me that he's even better looking in person.  DANG IT - Now I'm bi-sexual because of Amys Liver.

ThatGirl - Go forth and make a video of Old Liver geting an ass kicking.  I would love to see it.  GO GO GO

I heard an NPR show on Celiac Disease recently, a gluten intolerance which is fortunately very treatable, but until it's properly diagnosed, the patient lives in utter misery and near-constant pain. One man wasn't diagnosed until he was 70, and when he began a diet that eliminated his symptoms within days, he said that he had never felt good, truly good before in his life. I thought of Amy when I heard that.

When I met Amy she was thin, weak, and ashen. And yet she lit her wick at both ends and directed not one, but two videos while we were there and had us laughing the whole time, and afterwards we had pizza. Old Liver severely punished her the next day for indulging in that pizza. Mike lets her have pizza and enjoy it. I like Mike. Welcome to the world of feeling good, Amy, a world most of us take for granted.

P.S. You could have indulged in some face painting on the zit and told us you just got home from a street fair. We wouldn't have known the difference. And the three-dimensional effect of it would have been cool.

P.P.S. Thank you for being there to help take care of my friend. You're a mensch, Ruth.
