Whatever floats your boat...

Starring Lena Olin and Daniel Day Lewis from "The Unbearable Lightness of Being." I don't know the name of the actors who played the Japanese gangster and his mistress in "Tampopo" (directed by Juzo Itami and recommended). That's Kim Bassinger by the open refrigerator in "9 1/2 Weeks." The retro-burlesque dancer with the fans and martini glass is Dita von Teese (the ex-Mrs. Marilyn Manson). I had to cast one of Syd's girlfriends as the dancer with one stockinged leg and one bare to get funding for this production. Just one of those unavoidable compromises we make for our art.

You Can Leave Your Hat On written and performed by Randy Newman.

Kim Basinger still rocks!

Flop doesn't know 9 1/2 weeks or Dita von Teese, wow!
Flop then probably has a totally different Mickey Rourke image than I have ...

I haven't seen Tampopo and to be honest, I think I prefer Wong Kar-Wei (for example his movie "In the mood for love").

The novel "the unbearable lightness..." still left some marks in the back of my head. But I would have to lure it into my consciousness me thinks.

"I like the way the Japanese people were so tender and careful with that chicken fetus."
By far, the best comment ever written EVER! - I busted out laughing. I officially ADORE Blanch!!!

I found the milk repulsive (ref: 5facts video). Sorry I didn't heed your warning NJ but it was so urgent that It had the opposite effect. DANM ME for not listening.

On to my comment. Well done, Geoff. I love the song and montage. TUofB is a favorite of mine, not to mention 91/2 weeks. I have always love burlesque because it's sexy without being trashy - which I appreciate.
I just wasn't feeling that 'yoke baton' scene.
Curious if you have seen the movie 'Romeo is bleeding'? stars Lena Olin. She has a sexiness in that film that I found very appealing. it's her strength and boldness that make her alluring.

@Syd - I have to disagree on the smoking thing. People smoking in movies always look cool to me. I love to see it - gritty, sexy, sloppy - doesnt' matter - I like the way it looks on screen.

Pyper, I've seen "Romeo is bleeding." Isn't that the one where Gary Oldman asks Lena to take off her prosthetic arm before sex--and before she destroys him? But no dairy products were harmed in the making of the movie.

Jim, I'm trying to work up a pun using "hard-boiled" or "scrambled." Please be patient...
