Whatever floats your boat...

Starring Lena Olin and Daniel Day Lewis from "The Unbearable Lightness of Being." I don't know the name of the actors who played the Japanese gangster and his mistress in "Tampopo" (directed by Juzo Itami and recommended). That's Kim Bassinger by the open refrigerator in "9 1/2 Weeks." The retro-burlesque dancer with the fans and martini glass is Dita von Teese (the ex-Mrs. Marilyn Manson). I had to cast one of Syd's girlfriends as the dancer with one stockinged leg and one bare to get funding for this production. Just one of those unavoidable compromises we make for our art.

You Can Leave Your Hat On written and performed by Randy Newman.

Great vid - I think my mouth's still hanging open.
The trailer for Tampopo looked kind of silly after viewing yours.
I've seen none of these films - or Ms. ex-mansons extraordinary azz.

the unbearable lightness of being is one of my personal top 10 films....nice montage.

Thanks for watching and enjoying.

"Tampopo" is a playful movie, flop. The story is about a woman learning how cook the perfect bowl of noodles and she consults all kinds of sensei types before she succeeds. The Japanese predilection for detailed connoisseurship is one of things satirized.

It is a very good movie, Victoria. You should vlog your whole top ten list.

WARNING PYPERMARRU1:

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT

Thanks, Geoff. Remind me to turn down any breakfast invitations from that Japanese couple.

So Pypermarru1 is lactose intolerant and NJ worries about salmonellla. Not the kind of objections I was anticipating. Yesterday my sister and I were talking about the fine print under the movie ratings: "Contains graphic sex, extreme action violence and smoking."

Graphic sex (BlancheNoE's subliminals), extreme action violence (LtAdams flix)...these can all be justified in the name of art (especially if they cast my girlfriends in them).

Smoking, not so much.

I like the way the Japanese people were so tender and careful with that chicken fetus.

Thank you, Syd. I suspected a frame by frame analysis of BlancheNoE's movies would be uncommonly rewarding.

As always, Amy divines the intention of my videos. Unfortunately some people have been less understanding.

Why did Geoff cross the street? To avoid the PeTA picket line.
