Whatever floats your boat...

Geez,, all of my blogs are so full of blah blah blah...

me, me, me, me, me!

Does anyone have a violin...?

this one I hope will be a bit more funny.

Have you ever looked up and old love? I'm sure we all have an image in our head as to where someone we knew "way back when" must be now, at least I know I did. Will with this wonderful invention (you know the one Al Gore invented) the "internet", we can now find our past loves and friends in almost the blink of an eye. So, being the research savvy person I am, that is what I did.

First boyfriend, Rory T****w. Knew him in 5th and 6th grade. My first love, wanted to name my first child after him. A little chubby, beautiful blonde hair and the bluest eyes you ever saw. He had to move to Colorado because of his asthma, something about the air being cleaner there then in California where we lived. Oh how I loved that boy and I often imagined him as some mountain man, living with his wife and kids. I thought he would be a blue collar worker with a "mother earth" type wife and at least 3 kids with his cherubic face, blond hair and piercing blue eyes.

Is this what I found? Hell NOOOOOO! Several years ago, I did a search and came up with an article about his arrest. He had several warrants pertaining to drugs. Did my image of him diminish, only slightly. I still saw him as a tall man, robust but overall healthy, still with his piercing blue eyes and his full head of blond hair. And his poor "mother earth" wife, having to raise his poor children alone. I said a prayer and hoped for his quick recovery from this small misstep.

Ha.. what a joke. I did another search a few weeks ago and what I found came as quite a shock to me. It didn't surprise me that he was actually still in jail, what did surprise me was that he would be there for another 12 years. He is currently serving a 15 year sentence for the making of meth anphethamine. Now you would think that this would be the biggest surprise... but NOOOOO. They had a picture of him... an Effing picture...

I wish I could put it here, but I wouldn't want to post someone image without there permission (sorry family) but I'm not likely to get that any time soon. What surprised me was that although he was tallish (5' 10") He was also rather large around the waist.. OK, who am I to judge, people get fat. But his blond hair was gone, at least most of it was, except for that which was on his chin, a very long beard that protruded from the point of his chin only, so long in fact, that he had it in a pony tail. I couldn't really see his eyes, they still looked blueish, but not the piercing blue of his youth. In short, he looked like a biker dude.... Not the way he lived in my mind all of these years... maybe I should write to him and ask him, "WHAT THE F*** HAPPENED TO YOU?"

my next boyfriend was no so surprising. I dated him in high school....His name was Matt. He was HOTTT. All the girls wanted him, but he was mine for 10 glorious months. Afterward, we were just friends... but I lost track of him after college,, his college.. not mine. I heard he had gotten married and become a podiatrist (his father in law was a podiatrist and he joined his practice). I scoffed at him because in school he wanted to be a marine biologist... podiatrist was so mundane after that. well, I also finally tracked him down. Not only is he a podiatrist, but he is a foot and ankle surgeon... now this is very nice, but he doesn't only work on the wealthy feet of NJ, he works in a clinic.. a freaking clinic. This guy could care less about the poor in high school and I certainly didn't think he would ever allow his hands to touch "poor" feet. I found his image also... he is older, a little wider, but over all the same Matt I knew in high school... except that he was a podiatrist.

So those are my two "forever memory" boyfriends and how they wound up... anyone else want to share what became of your past "love"?

I look forward to laughing or crying with you.

I will have to ponder this and get back to you. May have to do a search of my own.

To JustDee: The only searches I've found that give that much info are pricey. Would you mind sharing your search sites?

it is a very hard to find search engine called google....

just about everyone now a days is either on a social network or a message board.. you'd be surprised what you can find out. Try classmates.com, a lot of people have signed up for that. Many companies have the names of their higher ups posted on their websites. Google is a good place to start and then see where that leads you. It is also good to know at least the persons age, if you know where they live or their last known city or state, that is a plus too.

just write down everything you know about them and then use different search terms, their name and age, their name and last known city or state. Use your imagination. Believe me, no one was more surprised then me when I found both of them. The internet is becoming less and less anonymous.. so it is easier to find people.

Good luck...

You're very scary. I'm glad I'm your sister and you already know everything about me.
...well, maybe. hehe

Matt was dreamy. Rory was a toad but I think it was his brother, Kevin, whom I went out with in the sixth grade and lied to about having secret powers (that was my excuse for breaking up with him...because we super-humans were not supposed to be with mere mortals).

@Syd, Kevin was Larry's brother... Rory was from California, kevin and larry were from ny....you told him you had secret powers...... and he believed you? YOU DO HAVE SECRET POWERS....

Ah!! That's right!

Yes, he believed me....um, maybe. He was either an idiot or a very good liar.

(I even showed him my super-power RING!)

Hehe, Suz. I discovered that my first kiss was with a future serial-killer. I kid you not.

And Dee..I gave that ring away to the next guy I broke up with as a token of my undying love (after informing him I had only weeks left to live).

@suzecue72....

I agree with you.. it is egotistical to believe if we had stayed in their lives, they would have walked the straight and narrow.. and yet...I still believe... LOL

@syd...

your killing me.. lucky for you we moved so often... he probably didn't know the difference.. but what would you have done if we hadn't and after a few weeks passed you were still alive. Wait, I know.. the power of his unselfish love saved you by his giving you up...
