Whatever floats your boat...
Article has link to petition at bottom: http://www.anh-usa.org/vitamin-b6-p5p/
If you care to keep natural remedies available legally in the United States, you could help.
P5P (B6) is something I take as a renal protective measure to slow the progression of my kidney disease. It's an essential vitamin that has no reason to be pulled from the market in only the US by the FDA.
It's a form of Vitamin B6, that pharma is working underhandedly to get banned from distribution so they can sell it as a drug.
If it's pulled from the market and you need it for your health maintenance, the machine will kick in. You will then have to pay for a doctor visit, and then pay for a prescription just to get your hands on a natural vitamin.
Im just waiting for oxygen to be withheld unless you can afford to buy it.
from the Article: "You might ask: how can Pharma take a supplement off the market and claim exclusive use of it as a prescription drug? The FDA does not presently feel obligated to answer this question."
If nothing else, the site is a great database for natural health information.
It took me some time to find it and when I did , every time i was done and hit send it cleared all the fields and said I hadn't filled them in. Mac problem ?
@Amy - sorry I was rushing to quickly post on my way to the Doc..ppfftt. Should have given a little direction to where the petition was on the page. I work with macs in school and most times when that issue occurs, it's a browser thing--more often than not, Chrome works over other browsers when the page will not submit. Did it work for you ?
@Steve -- you know me...I ain't laying down or even sitting until I can't anymore.
@Steve - I just searched "unrelenting force" and was pleasantly surprised by one of the first images in the results...(its from a game with which I am not personally familiar but Have a clue about)
Every few years some special interest lobby floats something before Congress to get supplements either banned or regulated as drugs by the FDA. While I think there's a lot of useless crap out there masquerading as medicine, it's enough for me to see "these claims have not been evaluated by the FDA" on the label. I'm capable of doing my own research and making up my own mind about whether I want to take it.
I agree with Steve here. If you want your message to do the most good, copy and paste it directly into an email to your own representatives. And for extra effect, change up the wording a bit, especially in the introductory paragraph. If you email it to the FDA, go online and get the agency's contact email address. That's what I'm gonna do!
