Truly depressing. How would we exPECT them to describe us when they write home to relatives,....

Although a large part of my heart and head were with Alito on his recent ruling, the parts of my heart and head that know and love the constitution know that there was only one way the court could rule.

Just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean you should. I am constantly dumbfounded by human behavior. Wild dogs show more dignity and grace sometimes.

Lima... it breaks my heart. I've thought of vlogging about the hate that is rising in the US against non-Christians, but my gut tells me that as a Canadian I should just shut the fook up - it's not my country. Who am I too speak? But, we have numerous friends in the US who are now working desperately to get out because they are afraid because of their faith. Professional men and women who have kids playing football, cheerleading, hockey, band... now targets for hate. *sigh*

I just don't understand anymore what has happened to people? why are they like this?  and so much religious hate.. its so horrible to me... no compassion.

Yes, exactly, I agree, just because you have the right to do, does not mean you should.

People act like they are so surprised to hear how other countries hate us so much... look at all the stuff we do.  :(

I took an oath to defend my country and humanity and the past few years I don't even know why anymore.

I am so ashamed of what we have become.

I would like to see from the latest ruling, somebody propose a law to make outburst at funerals against the law  nationwide, a disturbance of the peace, something that will keep people in the future from wanting to cause more hurt when people are already hurting...

I don't think because you are Canadian that you have no say.  I value one of my friends viewpoints and opinions much and she lives in canada, yours are just as important, we are all stuck on the same planet and I think we all know deep down this situation is only going to get worse.. hate spreads.

I just don't understand how it has gotten like this.

Prejudice begins when all you can see of someone different from you is stupidity, evil, wrong... etc etc etc...

This happens when that prejudice finds alliance of others who can't see more than what they believe as absolute right, and good and enlightened.

This is why I cannot align with any political movement.  This is why I shudder watching those passionate about their politics go after each other no matter how enlightened they feel they are.  I feel like hiding.

I was reading the title and my comments back to both of you and my answer seems to be :  I just don't understand.

and that is the problem, i am such a compulsive person always having to understand how everything is, that this really bothers me that I can't grasp the why and hows its gotten this far... I feel so helpless.

Chig nailed it.  People get so wrapped up in there righteousness - trapped in an echo chamber of their own making that they refuse to see/hear another side.

I dont' know the back story behind the video - the group - the reason for the rally...etc.  But telling fellow Americans to "Go Home" is silly.

Agree... especially when it was never "our" home to begin with...

My 2c on this subject is that in a bad economy, when many people who are working full time can't even afford the necessities, people become afraid. This fear can take many forms, one of them being distrust of anyone different from ones self. People can be easily manipulated during times of hardship. An extreme example of this is what lead to Hitler's ability to harness this fear and anger and turn it against the Jews, against the disabled, and any other group that was 'different'. There are groups just waiting for the right conditions to spew their hatred as evidenced in this video. Sad, scary and dumfounding.
