Whatever floats your boat...

I'm uploading a video to YouTube right now because I was unwilling to give up any sound quality and only willing to give up a bit of video quality on my soon to be posted here project. This means that the file size is ,..like,..twenty gazillion terabytes. Syd's already on my ass about my luggage and furniture cluttering up the place so I'm just renting a storage unit. Jeeze,...is it THAT hard to brush your teeth aROUND the stuffed/sorta' mummified 18th century grenadier?,...pshhh. Picky.

When a certain LtAdams2247 mentioned that he'd like someone to do a cover of House of the Rising Sun, I filed it and thought to myself 'oh I love that song, I should try to do my own arrangement of it'.
LtAdams promptly forgot the whole thing as he was severely focused on reading a map.
When I started work on this song, I thought it would be a dedication to my brother. He too loved this song and he was killed in New Orleans in 2000. With each new instrument or vocal track, the song was changing meaning for me. It became so much more than I had originally intended. This one means a lot to me.
I humbly beg that you let the video load completely before playing it. Starts and stops detract from the mood enormously.
In case you have yet to pick up on it, I'm sorta' proud of this one. I know my momma's proud too, in whatever incarnation she currently exists. I miss you momma', and I love you so.

****UPDATE**** I found a mix in a smaller file size that I could live with and I couldn't stand to see the generic thumbnail up front, so I'm uploading here as I type. Good Lord, I just know by next month I'll be washing my hands 68 times a day and checking the locks every 15 minutes.
I apologize to Chig who already left a comment *smack* (kiss-kind)

*Slaps head* MAPS! That's how he starts these damn things. Damn you Adams!
I especially like the bridge in the song. Now I know some of the background I need to watch again.

Geez...I'm all choked up and I haven't even watched it yet...

Ah yes, the bridge, as Chig mentions, it has that visceral effect. I watched before I read this, and I left a comment alluding to the cathartic quality I could sense in the maker.

Thank you, Amy, for sharing such a personal and creative work. As I said before, I'm friggin' wettin' me pants thinkin' about what all that new tech means for you in terms of your creative spirit. And for us, too ;o)

The San Francisco Chronicle has a rating system for reviewed movies in which the typical five stars is represented by a little man standing on his chair, applauding in a frenzy of appreciation. That's me right now--The Little Man.

I love the low harmony you did, it gave the whole thing such an ominous and resigned atmosphere. The costume, the historic footage, the plot, Pendragon's camera work... ALL of it, so excellent!
