Whatever floats your boat...

economic crisis aint got nothing on the human spirit

Today was comic relief day, a day where normal people in the wyes of milions of families become heroes. the smallest of donations save lives and in this time of economic down turn today the human spirit proved it was alive and well when over 50 milion pounds was raised

it costs 5 pounds to get an anti mosquito net to a babies bed preventing malaria
40 pence for a aids test kit to help cure a killer
so effectively 5 pounds and 40 pence can save a life

imagine everyone in the world being able to give 5 pounds and 40 pence how many lives could be saved.

"Fundraising for Comic Relief hit a record-breaking £54 million today as the show drew to a close.

The £54,690,437 easily tops last year's £40.5 million total and is the most money ever raised in the 21-year history of Red Nose Day.

A Comic Relief spokeswoman said: "We've had an absolutely phenomenal campaign. The overwhelming total goes to show that even in this economic slump and time of belt-tightening the great British public has still found a way to dig deep and give to those less fortunate than themselves".

"Comic Relief would like to thank each and every person who donated or gave their time to do something funny for money. We couldn't have done it without you."
