Whatever floats your boat...
...of the last ten years is :
"God Bless America" by Bobcat Goldthwait
And all the bonus features are good too.
It will forevermore be a holiday tradition in our home alongside "A Charlie Brown Christmas".
"Thanks for turning off your cellphone." :D
Although I chuckled at the trailer, I would usually turn down something like this.
But anything that has the BlancheNoE seal of approval gets my attention. I promise to check it out, and thanks for the tip.
@ Scotty- Thanks for the trailer embed ! You rock.
@ NJ- At the core of the story is a beautiful budding relationship between 2 souls with the same curse in that they both SEE, painfully clearly, the absurdity of what passes for life on this planet. I highly recommend watching all the bonus material. I always thought Bobcat was too sensitive a soul for " the business " and that his fate would be that of so many of the great comics who saw all too clearly and just couldn't un-see. Turns out I was half right (so far). Artists will never stop mirroring society. When society gives them something more decent and humane to reflect then that's what society will see mirrored back at them from the artists.
And I thought we had agreed on this being the most important film of the decade.
@ Chig- Second most important film in a decade ( Tucker & Dale...) . We bought it for my niece's boyfriend for Christmas this year and were delighted to discover that my niece had been nagging him to watch it for six months, so who's the favorite aunt agAIN this year ? That's right. It's pen.
