Suddenly my problems don't seem so bad.

Damn. Someone could have broken in here and stolen my ribbons, cake, puffy parachute pants, guitar and happy duckies.

Whew. I am rich. Life is good.

Her complaint is legit if you consider that her life is bound to virtual existence.

Can't you just picture this chick.  If not at work, she's home sitting in front of her computer screen.  Constantly seeking acknowledgment and validation from on-line 'friends'.  She has invested substantial time building the virtual life.  Some virtual rat bastard steals from her virtual IKEA furniture set and she goes mental.

This woman is going to end up being the funky smell her neighbor reports.  Friends and family won't even notice she's been absent.

She's a cautionary tale, man.

Upside?  It allowed me to  use the phrase Virtual Rat Bastard - what are the odds I'll use that one again. ;0)

Actually this is not the first incident to be reported where peoples virtual stuff is being stolen.  I remember a similar case recently within the year where the "virtual" thieves were prosecuted for their virtual crime.

Hacking into a persons computer/account is considered a federal offense.

This is a good read about one guy that was stealing stuff online has been arrested.

Real-world arrest for man who stole RuneScape virtual characters

Pyper is right. She is a cautionary tale. Virtual furniture can be replaced. Providing she had virtual homeowner's insurance.
