The Ark

Whatever floats your boat...

Oh Quentin, You Silly Inglourious Bastard

We finally got around to seeing Django Unchained last night as it finally made it to our local library,

which made me want to watch THIS ten more times in a row :

http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/new-tarantino-movie/n3...

(if link does not work, copy that into your address bar)

Warning : stage blood and a smidgeon of violence

Oh, and when people ask : "What would Jesus do ?" I'm pretty sure this is it, based on the way his message was hijacked and used for power and subjugation of innocents.

Yeah, I think it would be sort of hilarious if all the fire & brimstone and judgement stuff turned out to be true 'cause all the snake-oil salesman that use "The Word" to manipulate others would have some serious 'splainin' to do, Lucy.

I'd be hanging out with Saint Peter at the gate ( who I imagine looks a lot like LtAdams2247) just to see their faces when they find out they're in the wrong zip code. Maybe if I bring him a nice coffee cake he'll let me pull the lever once in a while.

I think we coulda done a better job then NBC because we would have focussed more on the Testament and less on Tarantino's back catalogue for our laughs.

Blessed is the Colt .45 Peacemaker

Let the one among you who is without sin be the the first to cast a grenade.

Make my Decalogue!

And besides, we've got Adams for our gore.

@ Steven&b2- Yeah. My revelation occurred when out of curiosity I began attending the churches of my friends' families when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I discovered that not all churches had soaring stained glass ceilings, priceless artwork, golden goblets and 20,000 thread count embroidered silk vestments but claimed to need your monetary contribution to help feed and cure the poor.

@ Geoff- FAN EPISODE !  HELL yeah. Adams ( St. Peter) ?, Chig (Jesus) ? Syd ( witch being burned for TEACHing people stuff ) ? ...anyone else in ?

@ Steven&b2- I'm reading a book right now that you might enjoy reading. It's The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I found it in the thrift store last week and I can't put it down. It's fiction but obviously told by someone who is passionate about her subject and the research.

AND - It hurts my heart a little that your sorry at ALL for contributing an opinion derived from knowledge and real-life-experienced perspective. The world needs that stuff more now than ever. You are welcome to just throw that stuff up anytime you feel the urge. I'll give you a monogrammed bucket to do it in and hold your hair while you do it.

hmmmm. I like the polygamy angle. The wife living a secret double life until Jesus and Satan end up in a bar together one night when Mary-Jezabel is out mackin' on Zeus. Then Jesus and Satan discover from their Facebook pages that they're married to the same woman .

Now who might you be thinking of .... it would have to be someone who's seriously crazy.

Oh my god..pardon the pun

GREAT share. I dunno how I missed that, but glad to catch it here.

Fan Episode sounds like a great idea. Okay casting director- Fill the roles and DO it!

I volunteer Steve and I to play wandering hippies looking for answers in the desert. We may also get lost but what is lost when you don't know what you're looking for....maybe we find happiness chewing herbs and turning somersaults down sand dunes for the remainder of our days.

@Steve. you are awesome and brave...don't change a thing.  That's all I got to say about that.

Btw. I adored Django in a way alot of people did not join in at the time of showing. I live like you in a very heterogeneous area, where the audience was well mixed.  That was one of the most uncomfortable audiences for the first half hour of the showing, then the house got sold on the message and the Tarantino bloodbath ending just Worked...(to have been profoundly disturbed by the scenes of torture and violence against innocents in the beginning to the point of physical illness, then to be smirking and enjoying the vengeance at the end, has to count for something for Tarantino --it was the "message" that mattered). I am an overly devoted, Tarantino fan -obviously..

@ TG- I'm tickled pink to be the one to turn you on to Djesus.

And yeah, I too loved Django Unchained. I should've known it would be good based on all the bad reviews it got.

FAN EPISODE? I want to play Mary. Bloody Mary, please. The one who appears when you stare into the mirror and say her name 50 times. That was DJesus's mom, right?

@ NJ- If I'm the casting director, you're in. Hopefully when winter rolls around more of the players will come out and play.

@ Chig- OHhhhh that's GOOD !

...but we need more whites of the eyes, sorta' like you're trying to look at your own brain. I'll bet there's a monk somewhere that can actually do that.
