Whatever floats your boat...

Garage Band is a music program that is like having a professional multitrack recording studio that used to take up the space of a medium sized building all on a table top.A Keyboard controller allows you to play any instrument you can think of and layer track over track. Garage Band comes with some fun "loops" which are pre-recorded short segments. I used a couple on "WasMawd" and haven't used them since. There's just too much original stuff to be made. With "The Lieutenant's Theme", I started with a metronome track, laid down the cello first, then the violins (2 tracks), then added percussion (3 tracks), then added the horns, and lastly, the church bell, for a total of 8 manually played tracks. Now, I am not a virtuoso. Garage Band allows you to go in after you've recorded and " tighten up " your tracks note by note , meaning fine tuning them by cleaning up timing errors and adding notes that you forgot to play or didn't even know should be there but weren't yet. It is just SO much fun,..and like all art, the accidents that happen along the way are THE most fun of all. So often I just feel SO freakin' grateful to be along for the ride.

I think anything else would only distract from the music. There are no words to describe how good it's gotten. Thank you.

I still don't know what you were thinking putting all those happy parts in there ;-)

Holy bejeezus, Amy!! That was COOL!! How did you do it? How is it you know all the instruments?

I especially love the last couple of minutes.

So you can score our movies now? Jesus...video-maker, singer, musician, director, editor, comedian, and now composer!!

lol on the very last bit.

@ Peter - You're welcome,..and yeah, that beautiful and soulfully bright stuff is just way off the mark (not).
@ Syd- Thanks Syd, I've always been able to play the instruments in my head but now thanks to Garage Band, I can play them on a keyboard,...with varying sensitivity even. Not only that, when I figure out how to load it all into Logic Express, I'll be able to print out the sheet music and actually hand it to a symphony orchestra. I effing love technology. There's SO many things I want to do.,..in fact,...is that E major on your shoulder there ?

Left shoulder, oh- that's a G minor, but take it nonetheless ;o)

What a send off to your Hiatus. You amaze me, Blanch -
I told my mom about this video - she watched....and I quote "That is beautiful, you think maybe she's famous and just doesn't want her identity known?"
LOL, she can't concieve of a world where Blanch is not renown, even though I tell her that this place is for hobbiest..etc.
My mom has good taste - she passed that 'gene' to me ;0)
Great work here - incredible in fact. Thank you for sharing.

Outstanding. Did you make this music with Garage band?

You are flat out amazing, Blanche. And if Garage Band enabled you to do this, then I'm very glad you bought yourself a Mac. I look forward to more, more, more.

But hey, whatcha sayin'? Last video for "a couple of months"? Do you know how long that is in Internet time? To my mind, that sounds like Tom Hanks in Castaway saying, "I'll be right back."

Garage Band is HARD!! I even had a lesson and couldn't manage it!! I'm feel like all I say on your videos is stuff like "your talent never ceases to amaze me" but it DOES! (Doesn't?) I love how diverse your videomaking skills are...comedy, vocals, songwriting, instruments...even your wedding video was a sweet, poignant riot! You do it all!! KEEP IN TOUCH or I'll have to come back to Missouri and hunt you down :-) Love you both!
