This is a great and cheap way to stabilize a camera. My variation is even simpler but you get the idea.

AWEsome. I was going to velcro strap a bit of weight to it but I'm definitely going to try the washer trick. That's brilliant. Hmm,..I want to try it with bungee type cord .

I seriously started laughing out loud when you asked, "what are you" its running away from you. Ohhhh I love the chipmunks, they are sooo freaking cute! There are millions of them around here. Really clear video picture. Very nice.

I'm laughing at myself too, Lima. Now that I think about it, I'm sure I *have* seen coots. I just mistook them for baby turkey vultures. Well, there goes all my street cred with the ornithologists. What 'er YOU lookin' at Dan?,....I HAD some,.....sorta' (not really).

Okay, I can see the difference, but only when you compare them side by side. I'm still amazed that all the videos you've made up to now were on analog equipment. I always thought your videos looked pretty darn good, regardless.

I think the difference that matters the most is the motor noise that your old Sony used to capture. How quiet your new camera is by comparison!

I didn't notice a difference in the cameras. I wasn't paying attention - i was freaked out by that duck hybrid thingy - WFH?

@ Nature- Thank you and YES! I'll actually be able to crank the gain on the audio without just enhancing the humm/buzz.
@ Pyper- I KNOW, right ? My first thought was ' that looks like a mutant duck/vulture'. Before I thought to go get my camera (by the way I had no choice but to grab the Sony because the batteries were dead in the Sanyo) we were talking to him and he seemed very sweet and unafraid. I don't know why he started running from me as soon as I had a camera in my hand. Maybe he's famous and just didn't like the intrusion. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go sell the footage to The Daily Telegraph.
