Whatever floats your boat...
Finally cleaned out my phone and decided to make a video of all the pictures I took last year, or had on my phone from the beginning of my deployment (operation enduring freedom) to when I got home. I had a few photo apps that allowed me to edit and photoshop my pictures, so you can see how I would take several different photos and editing back and forth.

...life, beauty, history, human beings, sacrifice, courage, dedication...making the best of everyday you get, Girl. You never forget to live each day, even when you out there in a heatscorched dustbowl. You're with your people....well, just a few things that come to mind.
Glad you put this together, I'm hoping you got some kind of closure and validation of how you got where you are now; by reliving it in pictures during the process
PS
A moment can seem like forever, or it can pass in a... moment. This is a nice capsule to remind you how you made the most of that time spent so far from home. 4:50 in length, but you probably could spend that much time, and more, describing each moment captured here.
ThatGirl, <3 Thanks for the smiles and the love :)
Ken, Yes, thank you, many stories behind each of those pictures. :)
Really effective. Is it strictly chronological or did you shift some of the images around? Some of the effects must have been delightful surprises, like when the several shots of the sunset set the sun dancing on the horizon. Putting this together you relived experiences while layering a creative experience over the memories.
Did you pick the song before, during, or after the edit? I'd have to go back and watch again, but there were spots when the lyrics seemed wonderfully apt.
How on earth are you making a photo show feel epic. HOW?! Never mind, I approve of this artwork ;-)
Bonus points for an impeccable choise of music as always.
Geoff, I actually had used "The Police, hole in my heart" but vimeo would not allow me to use it, so had to change the song. The pictures were slowed down in some areas to get it to fit the music selection, but no certain correlation to it. All the pics are in the order they were on my phone, that is why there are a few off and on when I was playing with the photo app, snap fish, (one of my favorite photo apps)
I had been carrying those pictures around for a good while now and thought it was time to let them go and free up some space for new adventures.
Peter, :) Thanks for the kind words <3 not much you can really do in the video editing department when it comes to photos. The entire album is good, if you get a chance to check it out. I can always dropbox it your way if you would like :D
lima , this is super cool. What made it even cooler is that I'm currently reading the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons ( which is where the Wachowski brothers stole the Matrix script from by the way > it's simply the last 14 chapters of the first book ), and in it there are time-tombs, amazing desert landscapes, Pax soldiers and beautiful people so you know how when you've played a video game too long and you start to see the characters and obstacle in your peripheral vision in real life ? Yeah, it's like that.
This is wonderful, Lima. I love everything about it, the editing, the sequencing, the rhythm, the choice of song. It's perfect. When I saw that it was almost five minutes of photos set to music, I was expecting my attention to wain after 90 seconds. Instead I was totally sucked in by it, afraid to blink because I knew I'd miss something. All I can do is watch it again and hope I blink in different places.
BnoE, Thank you! Not very familiar with Simmons, but going to take some time out to check out his work now that you have mentioned him. :D
NJ, Thanks! I felt kinda lazy that it was not really edited as good as I could have done. :D
