@NJ- Thank you for the compliment, I'm afraid I've been a very bad girl.  I confess; the last line is a ruse. I was thinking, to add a statement in denial of the truth; would confirm the truth. The REAL last line, no matter which way I wrote it, was too real, so adding the denial could leave the composition of the last line to the reader and I still could finish it.  Voila'!
