Whatever floats your boat...

Well, I think the powers that be finally gave my Mom and me a break. I hired someone from Companions and Homemakers, and she just finished. She is WONDERFUL! Efficient, friendly, kind, and just a lovely person. She's coming back tomorrow and I hope this isn't too good to be true.

Just when you give up hope in humanity..

I am glad this worked out Kev.

Have you checked into Mobile Meals? It is for people who are immobilized, can't shop for themselves... People in the community volunteer to cook meals, they get delivered to those in need, and the money for the meals come from donations from other members of the community. Well at least that is how it works in our community. Of course that does not get your mom to physician appointments, but I am thinking that there is some good out there in the world and it seemed a good time to mention some of it. ;-)

@Chig, thankfully my Mom has pretty good mobility, even cooks sometimes. We have groceries delivered every week by a company called PeaPod, works out pretty well. Pharmacy delivers too. Thanks for your concern and good suggestions. Our new helper has been cleaning. Funny thing, the vacuum cleaner works for her..it never worked for our previous "help" Odd.

@Suze, Thanks! So far so good with our new helper. Small adjustments, minor stuff. Our previous help didn't return the cellphone I was letting them use. Also the steering wheel lock is missing from our car that they were using. Nice folks huh?

@NJ, Thank you so much. I'm not really religious, but the day before she arrived, I did pray very hard for help for my Mom and me. Kadra (pronounced Kay-druh) has done more for us in a week than our previous 'help' did in six months. I just pray it lasts.
