More LV stuff.

There's a sweet person named Gina who works for LiveVideo. She has been there a long time. She had a live room today, and the topic was making LV better. She said they want to improve the place and bring people back. i said the people who left don't like the 18+ area, and they also expect to get support from the management. A lot of people agreed, especially about the porn. She asked about Caveman specifically and said they would put his pages back up if he wanted to come baxk. Anyone seen Caveman? She also said they want to fix the tech problems and bring everyone back who left.

Call me suckah, but I can't seem to totally quit 'em. I still log in at LV from time to time to see if there's hope. I don't mind you keeping us informed, Kevin.

@Chig..she mentioned Caveman specifically and said if he was willing to come back they'd reinstate his channel. I forget who else she mentioned.

@NJ..I feel a little like "don't shoot the messenger", obviously emotions run high on this subject. I feel like there's a glimmer of hope for LV. Maybe I'm naieve, but I'd like to see the place improve.

really?... I was told it was impossible to reinstate channels in the one email I received after they nuked everything else I had including my wifes channel with NO EXPLANATION. To their credit they reinstated my wifes channel when I wrote and said it was not mine.... without any explanation there either... no correspondence just playing god with the stuff I uploaded.
From what I can tell none of that has changed.... except they PR in live shows. Wish I am wrong and they prove me wrong.

Well I would make her start with assurances that swatting down people's channels with no explanation like they did with BlancheNoe , (although I think they may have explained something when they restored (sort of) her stuff. Is that right Amy?) As for me I received two emails regarding my request to just tell me if Chig could be restored.... Accounts sent a no nonsense email saying there is no possible way to restore a channel at the same time they killed all of my stuff. No explanation, and no warning. There was never any response to questions as to why they destroyed my wifes channel or anything else I made (CHLG, C2, QPID, another channel I was building for someone else wanting to share information about oriental medicine....)
Support sent a nice message after accounts did their thing... but no more illuminating:
"Our customer support team has replied to your support request #825811:
sorry.. it appears that i am unable to reestablish your account "
That lack of communication and sad display of nonprofessionalism is what I look to see change. PR in a liveshow is not a substitute.

My question is, why would the great videomakers want to post their videos at LV after the multitude of problems drove even the most loyal users (like myself) away. It took a lot to push me out of there, but the thing that did it was having a video of mine deleted for no reason. Videos are like precious babies to me. No one flushes my baby down the toilet without consequences.

Kevin, thanks so much for all this information. I know you're one of the die-hards at LV (one of the few people I know who frequent the live shows) so I feel I can trust we're getting the most updated info.

I want LV to come back so badly, so I'm at least uploading there and trying to keep up best I can (I'm shitty at keeping up with the few sites I'm on as it is..lol). As it is, one out of every four vids I've uploaded is randomly deleted and only one makes the front pages (meaning it registers as a new vid for people to see). That pretty much sucks, still. I just don't get why those glitches are still there.

But I care that LV comes back. I just can't be part of any concerted effort to improve the place because I don't feel it's our responsibility to do so any more (given how much effort we gave it in the past and were met with outright hostility- like Chig being punished for something he wasn't even told about in the first place).

There were a couple of idiots just playing around with us backstage, making our private videos public and toying with our content. Emotions are high for that reason. Many of us stuck with LV longer than what we probably should have given what they did to the community.

What you may not know is that they weakened the community on purpose because they saw it as a direct threat to their business model, which was to go with the live shows and keep the video content more as a support to those shows. They saw the strength of the community there as a threat to that and they took deliberate action to weaken it. This I know from someone who used to work there and who kept in touch with certain staff members up until about about six months ago.

Also, given Brad Greenspan's performance from a couple of weeks ago, it's now even MORE painfully obvious there was a complete idiot at the helm who was absolutely clueless about the value and talent of the community that once thrived there. That kind of blew me away, to tell you the truth. We always wondered if that were the case and sure enough...

So, some of us are kind of like spurned lovers. We still love LV for what it gave us, but it's a hurting kind of love and so, yeah....emotions will run high for that reason.

I'm stickin' in there trying to be positive and hopeful but I'm keeping my emotional distance and my bags packed.
