Whatever floats your boat...

This is the first in what may become a series of memories I have of my family.

I can't say for sure if this is an actual earliest memory of mine or just feels like it, but
here it is.

When I was a baby, a very round chubby baby, my Parents hired a photographer to
come to our house and take pictures of my brother and me. Well, I was set on the
couch, and I was so roly-poly, I would roll over to my left or right and my Dad had
to keep setting me upright. If I can find that picture I'll post it here. My Dad loved
telling that story.

One other quick one..when we were a little older, my brother and I would fall asleep
on the living room floor at night watching tv, and we'd get carried to bed. Once, when
my Dad fell asleep watching tv, I said: "Mom, who's gonna carry Dad to bed?"

That early photography experience must've had quite an impact on you, since you became a photographer! Where is your brother now?

All kinds of people will try to tell you that it's impossible for people to remember their infancy. Don't you believe it. My first memory is very similar to yours--I was six months old and I was at a photographer's studio.

All those sweet little vignettes, like wondering who's gonna carry your dad to bed, are jewels of memory and well worth recovering. Here's hoping you uncover trunks and trunks of treasure chests.

@Ruth..it's true, I wanted to be a photographer as long as I can remember.

@NJ..I'm not sure I remember the actual experience of having the picture taken, or just know it happened because the story was told so often. It's ok either way. Thank you for your kind words.

This is wonderful. I hope you decide to share more of your memories. "who's going to carry dad to bed?" That is to cute. I can just picture little Photo2010 saying that.....Adorable.

@Pyper..Thank you so much. I will share more of my memories. Right now I'm upset because an aunt of mine who lives across the street came over. She constantly criticizes me and used to criticize my Mom too. i guess it makes her feel better about herself. Knowing that I am primarily housebound, she said: "It would drive me crazy to watch tv all day", and she used to be a nurse! She also defended the hospital when I mentioned they let my Mom fall out of her wheelchair twice. My Mom was completely bruised. I would tell her to stay away from me, but I am not good with confrontation right now.
