The grieving process has so many hurdles of "firsts" to get over: the first morning without her, the first dinner, the first birthday, the first Christmas, the first year... It goes on and on until finally a whole cycle has completed itself. That is the hardest part of the grieving process for me.

I wish you good memories of your mom on this day, Kevin. (I wasn't able to access the video. Maybe you can post it to the Ark?)

Your mom had a sense of humor, didn't she?

NJ..you're right, the "firsts" are so so hard to get through. I've had a knot in my stomach and tears in my eyes most of today. It's also exactly two months since she passed.

It's been (unbelievably) 8 years since Eric died. Birthdays and the death day are the toughest. No words of wisdom here...just understanding :-)

My brother and sister passed about 18 and 15 years ago. My dad passed about, I don't even know...like 5 years ago....I still think about them every day. I miss them.. but now I think more about the funny and good memories rather then how sad I am at losing them.
Although, I agree with Ruth, their birthdays and the death days are harder...
