Lack of response both privately and publicly and the constant pimping of her content elsewhere fit the bill.
your friendly neighbourhood admin.
It appears her YouTube channel is more about promoting herself, than being involved with a "Community".
Sorry she never responded to the [ADMINS].
@SAM - It was inevitable and probably the longest "probationary period" known to man. Doris was here for years dumping numerous videos in a week's time, with no communication between she and the community. No replies to messages, no response to comments on her videos. She just dumps and runs. I know of several attempts by admins to contact her privately over the years, and never have I seen a response come back. She was reminded several times of the agreement to avoid using our front page as a dumpsite for videos on YouTube. I hope you understand this is not something Adams just decided to do one fine day...
I personally enjoyed the comedy threads we would create on some of her most outrageous posts....but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and someone has to strap on the balls to do it.
I understand ThatGirl. If she's not even willing to communicate with the [ADMINS], then I see where there's no other choice.
I had no idea.
We build up private images of the online world, and I always thought of Doris as hoping honestly to connect, but posting the wrong sort of material for the Ark. I felt occasional twinges of guilt for not watching her stuff very often.
I'm sure it's a bit of a bummer for admins to suspend anybody.
Geoff.... I tried big time to reach out. I went to all kinds of ning sites where she had the same page over and over again on numerous sites. I was wondering if it was even her posting things.
aww maaan. I just wrote a killer role for her and I had a really good feeling that she was gonna' respond this time.
*sigh* maybe Woodruff will do it.
I'll miss her a little. She was a curiosity, like collectible Avon bottles and troll dolls. Why do people keep them around? Because they're a little bit too interestingly weird to toss, until that one day when you've just had it with how much they occupy your space.
Doris is gone. *sniffle* Well, I'll just have to step in and fill the gap she's left at The Ark. I've been saving the cloth bags my basmati rice comes in for some time now. In another year, I should have enough to make Nature Boy a summer robe. I'll post a video.
I'm sorry Marie, but in order to fill Doris's vacancy, you must write a book about how to make summer robes out of rice bags and then promote that book using your video as advertising. And it will help if you can figure out several interesting uses for those rice bags, like how to make them into ice-fishing nets or lawn trolls.
Let's see how well you do.
Brilliant NatureJunkie! You are so right! If I going to do a Doris, I've got to do it properly.
Oh, I have lots of i-dears right now: a long and short robe, boxers, fishing shirt (each bag comes with it's own free zipper), area rug otta the scraps, dresses for my lawn trolls dragons... *adds ice fishing net to list* Oh, my... I'll make a video for each project as I go along. I guess, at some point I'll have enough material, haha, *wink* to made my own craft book!
Hey baby... Nature Boy...? We gotta buy more rice!
