The Gamble House

My husband is a 3rd generation builder--a carpenter by trade. Greene & Greene are among his strongest influences--it says so right on his website! We've been here many times and are in fact card-carrying "Friends of the Gamble House." We usually try to time our visit with the Swap Meet at the Rose Bowl...!

@jinboy. If you look at the front of the house on the second level to the right is a sleeping porch. Very cool!

@JustAnotherUserName. I've always liked this style of house but I had never actually been in one before. I was amazed at how many details went into it. It's not just decorative, but everything serves a purpose. I also didn't realize that they did more than design houses. Greene & Greene designed the rugs, furniture and even the lighting fixtures. Truly talented and amazing architects.
