I recently came into possession of some of the belongings of my long departed and dearly beloved dad.
He loved us fiercely but lakes and oceans were his true center. He always said when it was his time to leave this planet that he'd like his carcass to be fed to the sharks. I wanted to facilitate that last wish for him but for some reason my step-mom would have none of it and then there were those laws about not dumping dad-carcasses in the ocean. Thanks for the opportunity to share him. He was and always will be awesome.

Okay, my eyes were already a little misty after reading your Spock blog, but now I have big globular tears. What a great little tribute. Those patches are little icons of collected experiences. I don't know much about your dad, but I hope he lived a full life in his time here. I like him for wanting to be fed back into the circle of life.
Wow, you have been like a magnet for connections this last decade Amy. What a wealth of personal and sentimental items that is to possess. These patches say alot about your dad's spirit.
This made me smile. :)
Thank you ladies. It is so good to be in a state where I can truly enjoy the memories.
My dad was a total bad-ass. I hated him for it when I was a pup and love the shit out of him for it as an
adult (I use the word adult, loosely).
