That's sobering. I've seen a similar memorial in Lafayette, California. A couple who own a bit of land near the freeway began this a few years ago. Every American fatality is represented with a cross.

It sure does turn your head.

It was amazing.  We didn't even really set out for the Pier...just ended up there.  It was such an odd juxtaposition with all the rides and festivities just a few feet away.  Very effective.

Very sad and strange to see in that environment. Made it have that much more impact.

Holy bejeezus, I agree with Dan.  Profound.  Brings it closer to home and makes you think about the fact that it's still going on and there will be more crosses for those who died this week...and all the while, the sound of children playing...
