As bad as things were at times.. There were good memories.
The fact of the matter is that no matter how dysfunctional we might have been, we always knew that our parents loved us. I think my best memory.. well the funniest was actually on that same trip... it was when we stopped at a gas station for fuel and potty breaks and then when we were all done, we got back in to the station wagon and drove away... it was about 20 minutes later when Dad asked Joey a question... but Joey wasn't there.. we had left him back at the gas station...
The funny part was that when we pulled back up..which would have been almost 40 minutes later... Joey was just coming out of the bathroom and was totally unaware of the fact that we had left him... That was funny.
My worst memory...when dad left it up to us if he should leave or not and you and Frankie said he should stay and I had to tell him to leave...yeah, still feel guilty over that..
@Dee, as you know, we remember that dad thing a little differently, but since Joey agrees with your version of it, I'll defer. And the Joey thing...LOL- that was hysterical!!!! Was it really 40 minutes!!?? omigosh
