Whatever floats your boat...
I do personal vids in tandem with journal writing and this was a tiny piece of a private vid to myself (I was recovering from the flu).
Your letter to yourself reminded me of it. I'm laughing at this, Margaret, basically you proved me wrong ("You can't do this with writing.")
Do you ever peer into the camera lens and wonder who it is that's looking back at you. It's YOU, but a future you. But when you're looking into it, you have no idea how far into the future you're projecting.
How old is that person (future-self) who will, at some point, stumble across the video while cleaning up her files, or is curious to see her messages from the past?
What has she experienced that you have yet to know?
What does she know in terms of how futile, silly, irrelevant, or profound your present words are...?

LOL!
I was sick as a dog. Talked mostly about how I needed a change with my career. Six months later, I had a new job.
I certainly I never thought I would be reading it 60 years later. Or that I would be making a video (?) about it and making it available for the world to see.
What exciting times we live in.
I wish I could send a message to myself in the past: "Hold onto the Apple stock!" lol
Wonder if there's any significance to this year's first day being 1/1/11 ? Good time
for a new start with all the one's? I often look at the clock at 11/11, that's supposed
to mean something, dunno what.
Do you spend a lot of time videoing your future self or writing to your future self? I find it sincerely interesting.
Kev, are you sure your clock didn't stop at 11:11 and you just haven't noticed..? ;o)
Space, It's easier for me to just talk to myself than it is to start making a vlog that I intend to upload.
Pyper- lol, no. I don't usually have my future self in mind as an audience. This was me just wondering if I really would ever look back on what I was about to say, which was a truth I was coming to (and trying to avoid). I do private vlogs in tandem with journal-writing for art therapy, when there's time or when it becomes absolutely necessary.
I remember Carl Sagan saying once on a talk show that time travel is possible, but it's one-directional. "Socrates speaks to us, but we can't speak with Socrates." Any recording we make of our thoughts and actions is a message not only to our future selves, but to anyone else who may happen upon the message if it survives. (Anne Frank. She didn't have much of a future in which to muse upon her 14-year-old self, but what a time traveler.)
I don't wonder about the Future Me very much, but I often wonder about the people I haven't met yet who exist unknown to me in the world right now, that I will meet someday and become close to.
