Hmm...very interesting. It makes me wonder if there's a gene for compassion. Why is it some of us seem to empathize more with others...?
I know this one little girl who refused to eat meat at the age of five because she felt bad for the animals. No one encouraged her and no one in her family or immediate circle was a vegetarian- her parents had no idea where it came from but they went along with it thinking it was a phase.
She's fifteen and she's still a vegetarian.
What compels some to care so deeply about what others are feeling while some don't think too much about their actions and the effect they have on others?
