Whatever floats your boat...

Just a vlog about defining gender within ourselves, if it is possible. The link I referred to is here:

I think we all have some grey and it isn't all black and white. There is a spectrum where some are very white and some are very black but the grey is still there. Transgender individuals have so much strength IMO. Many people don't understand and don't try. The strength a transgender has to be there true selves is amazing. I've known people who change genders and end up being gay or being straight. Again there are no absolutes.

I wonder if we were able to get rid of the gender stereotypes if we'd all have less confusion and more freedom for everyone to be who we are. If we weren't expected to act a certain way and only be interested in certain things based on our genitals and/or mammary size, I think we'd all have less stress about a lot of things. Yes, I do think there is a very long sliding
scale and I think it constantly changes for each of us based on nature, nurture, age, hormonal changes, environmental factors, synthetic chemicals (drugs) in our water, stress and just about everything else that makes life, life. What I think it all comes down to is that each of us needs love (physical comfort, acceptance, understanding, recognition, sense of belonging,...not necessarily in that order) and as long as it's consensual and nobody gets hurt, I just don't think Jesus would have a problem with it. If we're not changing we're not growing and if we're not growing we're already dead. Now,...how do we get the general public to understand that this has very little to do with sex (the act) ? If we could get over that hurdle I think we could make a major leap forward in human evolution.

@jessica: yes, they are the strongest individuals...to face such adversity in just trying to be who they feel they are...I'm in awe, truly.
@Amy: yes, on everything you said! I was just saying yesterday that it would be nice if the pre-made labels and boxes could just disappear because none of us truly fit into any of them anyhow!

I think that gender identity if a layer, over the inner layer of the true person. As a thing of the mind, it is and must be plastic to some degree, and obviously, when we see extremes, it helps everyone to understand the whole idea of gender identity.

I too tip my hat at the transgendered and their courage to live their life honestly, and to actively search out who they are, and to examine themselves to try to get to a better understanding of who they are. To me, they prove the idea that gender is just a thing of the mind, far more than the body that they just happen to reside in.

It's also about respecting themselves, and being true to themselves, and being able to think for themselves. I respect those who can think for themselves, vs those who let others do their thinking for them.

I'm ALWAYS about freedom, freeing the mind, and trying to see things with the most open mind that a person can achieve. And the transgendered, through their courage, give more freedom to everyone.

should read: "is a layer" not "if a layer"

Thank you, soho2014, for this great comment. I couldn't agree with you more!!!! Yes, freeing ourselves to be what is truly at our core is the only way to live fully and authentically. My partner and I also talked about our gender identity being tied in with our past lives...talk about opening up a complete other layer?!? Thanks for the great feedback!

I fear Gender Identity Theft.
LOL you know the whole concept is based in stereotype. I think the most courageous people are those who fight against being stereotyped by fighting to be a stereotype. :-P

Humans are silly.

Yes, Chigs...humans ARE silly. I don't quite understand why we as a species feel this need to label everything. Guess it makes people feel that their lives are more in order if they fit into some preconceived idea of who or what they should be.

Ah, this reminds me of a documentary I saw about drag kings. The whole idea behind drag-kinging for women is to experiment and stretch one's boundaries when it comes to their own self-concept with regard to gender. You should try it!!
There's a good piece of it HERE.
