The El Toro Air Force Base, was closed in July of 1999. It is now The Orange County Great Park. It will provide a wide array of active and passive uses, including a 2.5 mile canyon and lake, miles of walking and biking trails, a cultural terrace, Orange County's largest sports park, and a botanical garden.

@NatureJunkie, Actually I was afraid to go up, but I went anyway. I just didn't get any useable footage. I didn't have a real video camera at the time, just my little point and shoot camera. But if I go up again I will take a real video camera. I think I should go in the day time too, because there wasn't very much to see at night.
