Hey you guys...I hate to say this, but according to someone in contact with LV staff, it appears that MOTC was right, they're switching data over to other servers, but not to upgrade or maintain...they're doing it to consolidate their dwindling resources.

The person I spoke to projects that LV has a couple of more months left in it and that'll be it.

As dismal as that sounds, it's still a projection made by someone inside the business and he could still be wrong. I just thought I'd let you know that LV staff aren't even sure what's going to happen.

Shame. Still, we have shuffled onto the Ark quite effectively....so I think Syd did us all a great serve.

This has come up before, but would making LV a fee-based service be a viable
option? How about a tiered amount depending on what services were used? Think enough people would be willing to pay, and would it save LV?

I hate to say it, but I would tolerate ads on LiveVideo (Not ads in the videos, of course, but banner ads and column ads and such) much like there is on MySpace and Yahoo. After a while they just become background noise anyway.

I agree with BD on that one. So used to adds everywhere else, why not there too. It's kind of like spam, it's there but you don't see it with practice!

yes, why not ads? We have clutter next to our vids anyway with the Liveshow stuff...Why does the internet suck balls this week? (rhetorical)

I think a lot of us were actually HOPING for ads on LV cuz it meant the possibility that LV has PLANS. I could live with ads if it meant they were gonna survive this very hard time for web upstarts.
