Whatever floats your boat...
Hello all. What a trip it is going through the old vids. It almost feels like researching a documentary about those days on LV. (what Syd has not made that one yet? Perhaps she can start that documentary after she writes a novel on the subject. ) Anyhow, one second I am watching touching vids by Blanche cooing about Syd, or SM1310 thanking several others, or Torigirl thanking and being inspired by others.... And I watched Syd's first vid. Wow. Then I just marvelled at the effort that people put in for others on that site. Just amazing. And stuff was brilliant, clever, moving or just outrageously funny.
Anyhow, If any of you have anything from those days you want to put up on CS, let me know and I will hand over keys to you so you can link the vid there.
Hope you enjoy the look back this week.
Chig, get the fuck outta my head!! LOL I just starting going through all my old files to try to organize the mess and was thinking the SAME thing about how freakin' amazing and creative that time was and how blessed I am for having rubbed elbows with the likes of you (and so glad that many of us have managed to stay in touch).
I guess I had a propensity for wanting to "keep" some of the vids that impacted me the most so I have quite a collection of other people's stuff.
I was planning on making a "chronicle" of that time as a hobby over the course of this next year. As I was watching your stuff (omg, absolutely hilarious), I was thinkin' how you're the DIY version of Yankovic (the hippie hair and all the Tom Petty comparisons were merely a distraction from said brilliance). Suddenly, it's all so clear...
;o)
Thank you for preserving and reposting this Memory-Lane LV Museum material. I'm thoroughly enjoying...
The LV days were great. All the tags, collabs and response vids were great not to mention all the original content. Good times. Unfortunately I have very few of my old videos let alone anyone elses so I can't contribute to the CS archives. Sorry but looking forward to seeing what videos come back out here.
Dan, no worries.... I am sure all the ladies have every one of your videos. Don't you still have the Quest for Purpose ones we rescued yet? I think I have a whole folder of those. (13 or so if I recall)
Syd, I think you could do a bang up job with a documentary. I was watching a Faye006 LV Update yesterday and thought she/he/it really did announce the course of LV in a humorous way.
I'm enjoying this sneak peek into the past. I am sorry I have nothing to contribute. Sadly, I was never on LiveVideo :( .. and only started posting to YouTube 6 years ago.
I move that we get some early SAM vids in this thing. and here is why...
Scott,
Livevideo initially was an environment for a creative tour de force and sharing. Collectivesoul channel CollectiveSoul was never an exclusive group. It welcomed everyone, and attempted to provide everyone input. We even passed the ownership of collectivesoul channel from person to person each month. I believe Syd eventually based next Collectivesoul channel host on most participation in projects.
If you have something to share, send me the link and we will add it on Collectivesole channel of the ARK. This was right along the lines of what we did.
(Vloggerhead's Democrazy may have benefited from the early lessons learned in CollectiveSoul, but we never got to the CRAZY point of VH Democrazy. Politics never came into play, although I remember a couple moments of diplomacy and inventiveness to address some tomfoolery going on. For my input I stuck by the old "If it isn't fun, then you are not doing it right" philosophy. I would hope though the ARK is viewed as the legacy of CollectiveSoul on LV. The spirit of creativity and connections and having fun.... I think that still happens here.)
Scott would've easily fit into the creative video-makin' crowd at LV during the height of things.
I think so too Syd. I could see him and a Jesus loving Frog puppet cohosting CS together. :-P
I have humbly submitted my video, for your viewing displeasure :D
Yay Scott. Link me. :-)
