The Ark

Whatever floats your boat...

So customers are driving us crazy with ordering while on their cell phones. Rather than being polite and hanging up when they reach the register (or asking the person on the phone to hold while they place their order) they either ask the cashier to wait while the line reaches out the door or silently mouth their order. When we repeat it back they nod their heads yes and then get irritated when it comes out wrong. Is that our fault?

So I need to come up with phrasing for a sign to put near the registers. This is where you come in.

It's needs to be more polite than:

"Get off your f&!#ing cell phones please."

And it needs to be shorter than:

"For quicker service please finish cell phone conversations before approaching the register. Thank you for your understanding."

Does anyone have any suggestions?

And I am now on page 402 of Deception On His Mind.

How about: "Please put cell phone conversations on hold to ensure best service'.

Can they see you? If they can, why not just pick up your phone and ask them to hold on while you take your call. Then just stay on your pretend call until they hang up theirs. Personally I'd stay on my pretend call a little bit longer than them so they know how annoying it is.
