Whatever floats your boat...
One of the saddest pieces of news I heard last year was one of the two Brothers who made up ES Posthumus had died. you have heard their music (check the link).... if not on TV, in some of Peter's vids, or even in a couple CollectiveSoul teasers.
As this year turns things around.... The surviving brother, Helmut has started a new band... and there are shades of ES Posthumus in the compositions and instrumentals.
Check out the music:
Les Friction rises from ES Posthumus' ashes
Oh my goodness, Bruce. I was so sad about the news.Just got into exploring them more deeply and learning the backstory this summer, after being introduced to their music by you and adams a few years back. Glad to see there will be More ...Totally checking out the link NOW. it's such moving and inspiring stuff. i even sent one to Mel after discovering it's a great hypnotic Hooping song.
Dang!! Love the whole thing- very moody (my fave). Thanks Chiggums.
Wow, I dunno if any of you ever let Stargate Universe grow on ya but I thought it was JUST pickin' up narrative steam when it was cancelled (as usual).
Here's in excellent fan vid for it using the track:
Part of an ES Posthumus composition, Nara, was used as the theme music for the TV series Cold Case. I was surprised when I found out that it wasn't commissioned especially for that show, because I thought it was one of the best instrumental themes describing a show I'd ever heard, along with the theme for Six Feet Under. It starts out simply and then builds in intensity and complexity, just like events of the past coming to light during investigation. Then there's a plateau and a resolution. I thought it was perfect for that particular show, which was about people finding closure from old wounds associated with crimes.
I'm sad to hear that one of the brothers is gone. I hope Helmut's creativity continues to flow.
The song Nara which NJ mentions is on the following video on channel Collectivesole. LOL I misspelled the band's name back in 2008.
Teaser for something along time ago and far far away from Chig TheInnocent on Vimeo.
I have yet to see season 2 of Stargate Universe. I just recently purchased the season 1 blurays and watched through mid first season and sort of watched a little here and there of the last part of the season. So it picks up in season 2 eh? The guy that posted the SGU video with the Les Friction song did within a day of the premiere of the song on a California radio station. That was it's one and only time of airing. So hats off to that video editor.
