Whatever floats your boat...
I didn't know him on YouTube. It wasn't until I moved to Vloggerheads from LiveVideo that I connected with him. We were on friendly terms until he joined the VH mod team and I had to work with him to keep the peace over there. He drove me absolutely nuts, lol! He kept going rogue throwing the rest of us under the proverbial bus. Still, you could say he had a hard time being a team player given his individualistic style.
We were still friendly afterwards, but there was a lot of snark back and forth over the last few years. I appreciated the not-too-serious adversarial nature of it and it seemed he did, too...but who knows, really.
It's sad that he's gone, but it seems he nobly left the world on his own terms. Good for him.
I'll leave this with the phrase he knew bugged the shit out of me because he'd often do a "hit and run" (leave a snarky comment and then end it this way...)
Be well.
I never saw Zen at his vlogging height on YouTube--I've heard he had a lot of subscribers and views in the early days--but I watched him on VloggerHeads. He was a big frog in our little pond for a while. He withdrew a little after getting cuffed around a bit in some site politics.
He had a natural and easy speaking style. He was a good off the cuff vlogger. He seemed to get a lot out of it and many of people appreciated his thoughts and contributions.
Sorry to hear he is gone. This was a very nice tribute vlog that I know he would have appreciated.
Nice documentary on Zen, I think he would enjoyed it very much. Pretty boats.
