Whatever floats your boat...

Fed up with the high cost of socializing at our local watering holes, we instituted "Spaghetti Wednesday." It has taken on a life of it's own!!

Ruth, this is the stuff of life. Seriously. You inspire me to maybe do something like this.

David looks like he's in a place of sheer joy. And you, well, YOU are in your own element. :o)

Hey, you're learning guitar?

It's just the best, Syd, and super easy to pull off. We have a "tip" jar and ask for $2 each, which covers the cost of the meal. If people want alcohol, they're free to bring it (and they do!) but we provide lemonade and iced tea. At first, we figured if one showed up, great....if 10 showed up, great! We couldn't be more pleased with the way it has evolved.

Yep...guitar lessons Tuesdays at 5:30! I professed an interest in it a year or so ago and next thing I knew David brought me home a baby Taylor (the kid on the steps is actually playing my guitar)! My teacher, Dave is a professional blues guitar player. He has a rich history of backing lots of famous folks and he's soooooooooo patient with me. My only aspiration is to be able to strum along with the folks on my porch, but who knows...!

Hey Ruth this is really cool. All of my friends are musicians and music industry majors. I hope we're still getting together and jammin like this 10-20 years from now. Only wish I was more musically inclined! Thanks for sharin

I've been to two or three big jam sessions like this in my life, and will never forget them. I have so many songs in my head from my youth that are dying to get out, and when I'm around people who have the same songs in their heads, it's heaven on earth! I hope you keep doing this, Ruth, and filming it, too. =)
