Well, I can’t say for sure – he is married to woman. (But so was Oscar Wilde.)
Back in the 60s, when I first heard him, word on the street was he was gay. But then again, back then my hearing could have been distorted by map exposure.

I love Rachael Maddow-

Fred, did she self-identify as "openly gay" or did the news tag her with that... because, to me, that would be something entirely different. It wasn't clear in your vid.

I'd definitely question that if it's used as an identifier in some way, as if it matters in that context...definitely.

I'm glad I listened to this again. ;o)

We seem to have a communication problem. (I was likely unclear.)
Rachael introduced a story with, “Openly gay, Bishop V. Gene Robinson…” So she applied the term. The fact that he was gay was relevant to the story. I just found the word openly sounded awkward and redundant.

I think I understand the nuance in meaning now. (I think.)

I really like Rachael Maddow. She’s very bright, attractive and really seems so enjoy a good argument. (The fact that I agree with her politics is also a big plus.)
