@ NBC: Thank you, Sara. That’s sweet of you.

@ Blanche: We got those housecoats where we got all our other cool hippie clothes, the Purple Heart Thrift Store. The beauty marks were courtesy of my mother’s eyebrow pencil. The cigs came out of my sister’s allowance. I think she was mad at me for wasting it by not inhaling.

@ Syd: Maya was a TV series that ran for about five months before it was cancelled in 1968. It was just horrible, but my sister and I liked it. That sign represents our very first stint of activism. We could have just written letters to NBC, but we decided our words would be more powerful if we included photos. So we made that sign and took pictures of ourselves with the Diana camera I got free with ten Kool-Aid packages, and we included them in our letters. It was all to no avail, which was for the best.

This is the best birthday vid ever. This vid reminds me how lucky I am to have you both as friends. Welll done NJ.
At second 14, you both look so cool. I dont' think I've ever been that cool, not even in a staged photo have I had the kinda cool badass vibe coming off the two of you in that shot. I want to be cool like that ;0)
