Whew, all that labor for just six loaves! Can't you just get it at Safeway?

 

All kidding aside, I love to see traditions like this stay alive, especially food traditions, because two things that people will always gather over are food and music.

The braiding reminds me of challah. That's my favorite part of makin' it! 

I was curious and found this pic of it. Looks like it's kind of got a thicker texture than challah.
