Open Mic

Last week I went to a cool open mic night. It was different from the ones I've done in the UK. Back home they were always in pubs not coffee shops and they were always musicians performing.

This one had storytellers, poets, harmony singers and musicians ranging from steel guitar slide blues players to autoharp crooners via garage band buddies.

And in the middle, me. Bringing on the misery as only I can lol.

Still it did help me meet some new muso types. One woman gave me a flyer to come down to a weekly open mic in Madison so I'm gonna go check that out this week. The really cool thing there is that they stream the performances via webcast at www.reddragonfreepress.com.

So if you're bored on Thursday, check it out 8pm onwards central time. I can't vouch for quality control but sometimes that's half the fun ; )

Wow...you're in Madison?! I LOVE Madison! My ex-husband was born and raised in Wisconsin. There are lots of people there that hate me :-)
