Whatever floats your boat...
I have been watching one of the most Gut busting series I have ever seen. It is called An Idiot Abroad.
In that I was introduced to Karl Pilkington. I started watching some other conversations on video and in audio from this man. LOL. On the surface some people might judge this man as being a moron. I have to tell you though, if he is.... he is still a brilliant teacher who does impart a unique perspective on the world. For that I want to recognize his brilliance.
Watch An Idiot Abroad for a great laugh. Watch this video and maybe you will what I see as brilliant.
We just watched the whole thing then went over to the Tube and watched 3 more.
I can't help but love Karl.
I agree. Brilliant.
Thanks for turnin' us on to him.
Gonna go check it out...
Ha!! I'm lovin' his mom:
"Wouldn't that be dreadful, to be always right?" "Things are not meant to be sorted out."
She never gives an answer to his questions, too. Love it. And she's more about the sensual world- feel this loaf, isn't it nice?"<-- "It's gonna make me have a big shit." Better to have healthy bowels than a good brain.
And finally: "Surely you've already realized that Mensa people are the most dreadful types.."
Mystery's already solved as to why he's brilliant in an anti-establishment way.
LOL.
Ah Syd, that was a Mensa type, not his mom.
She was relating to him on an unassuming level, and putting him at ease, showing that you can be down to earth and learned at the same time. It sort of went down hill with the "geniuses" from there.. LOL She taught me the word "maladroit" in this conversation.
Honestly other than her, Karl came off as the smartest one in the video.... and he is often portayed as a bafoon. The thing of it is, that his perspective is revealing of what people treasure. You should check out an idiot abroad. So funny....
Will do. She was a mensa-type? lol Obviously, I'm not. ;o)
Supposedly she was a "smart" person he was set up to meet. I honestly could see it in her. Especially when she referred to the Mensa individuals as "socially maladroit." I think she was more of the philisophical type than the dry analytical type. Plus she was just putting Karl at ease. I guess Karl is often refered to as being a dolt. She was quite unlike the last "smart" person that Karl met. Yikes! Of those two I would have to say Karl was the smarter, although not the most book learned.
Well, and Idiot Abroad is funny. Not like what you see above. It is good to see the world through Karl's eyes.
For some it is very relatable. Funny too. In a way it makes me understand some of my early life experiences in the South during the Civil Rights movement and how it is I see current political events painted in a certain light which others may not see at all.
Doesn't mean that things are the way I see them, just that I see them.
Never mind..... Just know that an Idiot abroad is funny. Both seasons.
