I go back and forth, honestly, about whether I'm hurting LV's chances to thrive by having an ARK that displaces some of the creative energy away from there.
However, I don't see people closing up shop on LV just because the ARK is here (maybe two or three, for personal reasons) but as I see it, most of us ARKians have one whole foot in LV and the other roams about trying to get some footing. Many of us have even become more active on YouTube as it is- ironically, the only sure thing. I personally haven't touched my YouTube account in over 4 months, but I'm noticing a lot of people friending me there who have left LV.
The fact is, I haven't really made videos the way I used to- the way that brings me the most joy. Vloggerheads came along at a time when school was just starting up (a very difficult assignment this year), and so I had less time and vlogging (while not really my style) became convenient. Little editing, if any at all. My LV channel, since August, is nothing but a talking head. But that won't be forever.
I'm still at LV and I post a lot more than the hold-outs that are still there and won't go elsewhere, but here's the thing:
I am SO grateful to them for holdin' out. I challenged us to go over there and get their arses over here but the truth is, I'm glad they're keepin' the light on!
I'm still active and visiting LV for THEM. If they weren't there, I don't think I'd keep goin' back as often as I do. They're what's keepin' that place alive for me.
I posted this on LV today:
