Heh.  You just have an appreciation for things well-made. 

There was a reason you put it away.

Margaret, I do very similar stuff with project items, especially with things that are in "new" condition. I have sheets and sheets of art glass that I've bought for using in mosaics, and when I go through the collection I'm always surprised that I have things that I forgot I owned. Then I go through the same decision process you did: This is perfect for the project at hand, but I hate to cut it. What if I just hold on to it and it ends up being an even better choice for something else later?

 

A lot of the time I end up putting it away again, to be forgotten until the next time I "find" it. I'm glad you didn't do the same thing with the kimono.
