Ok.  This part is NOT fun :-)

I don't think you're the type of woman who waits for the man to contact you.  I assume you've called, texted, and/or e-mailed him already, right?  :)

Well, I kinda am.  But nevertheless, I sent the first message....I asked him to the party...I said I wanted a ride on the bike...at some point I have to stop, right?!  We've had a genuinely good time and he hasn't said no to anything :-), but still.  It's kinda his turn, right?!  Right?!  What are the rules here?  AARRRGGGHHH!!!

Actually, it does sound like it's his turn, and you're probably also wanting to get a clear message that he's interested and not just going along with you, AND you want to give him breathing room, blah, blah...  Given all that, you have no control over his actions, only your own, so if you're suffering too much, I'd send him an e-mail just to say hi, just to keep things warm, not to appear over-anxious.  Could he be a little shy?  Does he have a super-busy life?  Does he have a sick mother somewhere who needs attending to?  There could be a lot of reasons why he's not contacting you right away.  Or maybe he's just taking his time, who knows?  I don't know if I'm helping you at all, but I wish you the best of luck, Ruth.  (And remember, there are plenty more fish out there if this falls through.)  :)

It's just good, old-fashioned new-relationship anxiety and insecurity.  It's only been 4 days (ha!) since I've seen him, we do have a date tonight and we do exchange brief texts.  It's just all so disconcerting!  What if he doesn't like me as much as I like him?!  What if he decides the age difference bothers him?!  What if, what if, what if!!?

Sounds pretty normal to me.  At least it's not boring!  Enjoy those butterflies in your stomach for the time being.  I'm glad you have a date tonight -- it might put to rest one or two of the "what-if's".  =)

Jim...you rock.  You should screen-shot this conversation so you can prove to all your potential dates that you're one of the good guys.

And no more what-ifs.  It's all good.  Really good :-)

How nice of you to say that, Ruth!  <3  And I'm delighted to hear that things are moving along swimmingly for you.  =D

Every man still has a little boy inside him so I think every woman has a little girl inside her too.

It means the magic of wonder is still there Ruth.
