Whatever floats your boat...

It's difficult to teach a child when his character compels him to say "I don't have to listen to you. This isn't fun for ME. " It's that incredible false sense of entitlement reigning in America which adds to the challenge of trying to teach at ALL in a 21st century classroom. Fostering mediocrity and abolishing competition have severely effected society so much so, that like all personality disorders, there's almost no way to fix it. http://www.narcissismepidemic.com/
21st century living is Complicated even more by the already present population of people raised to believe each and every ONE of them is unique and special without having to compete to attain rewards through effort or experience any type of failure which is a natural motivator. At school we are constantly trying to teach children how the world works outside their families, and how responsibility and goals must be internalized, for we see how they will enter the workplace and be completely destroyed by "reality" when they must finally face it. The world does not exist to boost their egos and hand out high salaries as soon as they walk in a door.

The Malignant Narcissist is someone quite different. Psychologists still struggle over whether it is always a mental illness with comorbidly existing neuroses or just a failed human being. What we are relatively sure of, are the two ways these personalities are formed, either by Overly-indulgent parents or neglectful abusive parents. Two ends of the parenting spectrum. This personality comes to the attention of society mostly when they run into trouble with the law; http://www.drirene.com/catbox/index.php?showtopic=40676 The advice to friends family and relations is always to get away from these people because they are volatile, incapable of emotion, devoid of conscience, purely ego driven, and always leave victims in their wake. They are highly practiced in faking emotions, often times so obvious to the observer the uncomfortable feeling that something is awry comes instantly. When a victim stops providing narcissistic supply, they are simply discarded for another source. Their personalities are developed to excuse their behaviors as righteous because society isn't worthy of their greatness. People are truly objectified by these folks. Its hard to believe until you experience it. I keep coming back to this every time I'm drawn back to psych, when these types identify themselves in social settings. They are the real zombies, operating solely in search of the next source of narcissistic supply. The vampire and zombie, perhaps are legends bourne of experiencing these types. I always think that possible. They literally suck out your soul and leave you empty, and move on.
