Hello Arkians,

In looking back over my Ark and LiveVideo history, I have to express gratitude that those sites gave me close friendships that I would have otherwise never had, friendships that carried over into my "real" life. Flophousepoodle, for one. Pypermarru1, for another. And of course, BlancheNoe, who has taught me a thing or two about gratitude, humility, and grace.

My dear friend Joell, Pypermarru1, has been diagnosed with cancer. A form I'd not heard of before, but one of the meanest kind. It's a bit ironic to me that she has started vlogging again on YouTube, which is where she started out when Syd landed on one of her videos, "From the Mountain Top," and pretty much introduced her to LiveVideo folks. My friendship with Joell has not only been one that transcended "online" friendships, it has been one of the most profound friendships I've ever had. We have been in frequent touch for 18 years now, and even though she and I live in different states, I've lost count of the number of times we've visited each other. I cannot grasp how I would have survived my last two decades without her.

If you occasional drop-ins remember her, if she ever made you laugh, pay a visit to her YouTube chronicles. She'll still make you laugh, and along the way teach you a lot of stuff about cancer you probably didn't know about. Claritin, for example.
