for Chig - Thank you for suggesting such a hard hitting song. A challenge. I'd sing it for you live anyday but this will have to suffice. My attempt to provide a visual ride to accompany Melanie C.s powerful song. Doesn't look like my voice will get better too soon, so I'm going with my best attempt for now. Love D. Comment by NatureJunkie on December 21, 2011 at 12:13pm: I'm new to this song also, so I don't have anyone else's interpretation of the lyrics to compare it with, but as always, you add a new layer of meaning to the songs you choose to sing. Perhaps I don't know what a good voice is supposed to sound like,* but your voice sounds very strong and smooth to me.

* I used to have a co-worker who claimed to be a music purist and he was always telling me that my most beloved singers didn't know how to sing.

I did have my way with the melody so it is different than the original, and I'm glad you liked the arrangement there. Thanks for the compliment, I had asthma while doing it but the vocal chords function even when the throat is sore it seems. they are DEEPER in the pharynx. It always amazed me that a singer can be barely able to speak, but get out a tune...MAJIX!!

Musical Taste= an odd beast. the arts have no true standards, imo.
