(In 2008, the Midwestern Floods affected seven states following months of heavy rains, overflowing rivers, and levee failures. This area of Illinois had been underwater for a month at the time I took this footage.

@ Syd: No, I don't live in Illinois, but I travel the length of the state when I go visit my family. Fortunately, they were not directly touched by the floods of '08, but the economy of the whole state took a hit that affected them indirectly.
