Does everything except the guitar come from your computer--the bells even--or do you sample yourself playing some of the instruments? And do you ever record a random sound and find it can be tweaked into a reasonable facsimile of an instrument?

Every now and then I listen to a cover by you or Ferdz and discover I enjoy your vocals more than the original. Nothing against Elvis, but I always found his singing a little bombastic on this number. Show-offy. I found your more restrained style a better fit with these lyrics--just personal taste speaking.

I actually have a set of Tubular Bells, but they're buried in my one closet. They came from a church and were in my Grandfather's garage at one time. I like having the freedom to evolve my arrangements, so I typically use my software. My older recordings from years ago had all the instruments played into the recorder. I used to even play the drums, but now I can tweek everything as I'm building up an arrangement instead of being stuck with whatever I had played. Sometimes I'll use a sound and modify it into something I'm hearing as well. Elvis definitely had a giant vibrato in his voice all the way through the song. I just added the vibrato in my voice as the spirit moved me.
