No rush.... Be careful with the voice. See here on this Live, tuned down a half step to spare the voice.... There is still a touch of reverb, and she spares her voice in the first half by masking with a fuzzy bass (as she does not have the echo studio tricks to back her up for some reason)... then around 3:20 when the vocals become more demanding she holds back at tad and has the instrumental pauses. By 4:20 even she has a look of pain.... but then lets an extended instrumental jam happen so her voice has time to recover before the next song. In other words, if it hurts the artist.... So, take it easy and please do not strain your voice because you pushed it to get it done.
Never lie to your children. Never surrender your principles. The struggle to maintain order in your home will continue whether you are devout, ambivalent, theist, deist, atheist... but the little bastards you've spawned can sniff out insincerity with 100 accuracy. They're evil, evil I tell you!!! *snort* The only hope is to be honest and as open as is appropriate for their age level.
I can tell you are an amazing parent because you care, worry, and question.... It's only arrogant shift fuckers who think they are right.
"all by my lonesome" .... is more a personal empowerment thingie. Genetically I am foremost an English Speaking *wink* French Canadian (dating aback to the seigneury system, mid 1600's) with a dash of Scottish, English, Irish, and First Nation... in that order. Which makes me a typical middle aged Quebec mongrel of a certain age...
I was fortunate to have parents who raised me not to aspire to gender specific traditions. I learned to change a tire, cook, swing a hammer, etc - all in all - to attain self-sufficiency. My gender is a blast, a swing of fate, and not to be used as an excuse. haha I had to teach my husband how to mix concrete. I don't need anybody to take care of me, but it's fantabulous to share the journey with someone...
Having been raised as a non-compliant person, I found following the authoritarian principles of the Catholic eventually tiresome, contradictory, and toxic. Religious dogma is always about letting the church think for you. No one thinks for me, I wear my big girl panties!
My parents passion for each other vs RC doctine on birth control and 'sex for procreation only' led to their break with the Mother Church. Strangely I am still a Christian, but eshew dogma in all it's forms. I accept full responsibility for my faith and am prepared to either cease to exist beyond a transfer of energy or get hauled on the carpet by God upon my death.
kind worded girl that you feel the way you do and agree with a sista arkian. not everyday I hear your pleasant spirit shine, one word, humbled. The Ark is home for me always will be, I knew the very moment I was found finding myself an arkabode. No, not going to leave anytime soon i hope.
My playlist is rather junk right now. I'll have a better one soon.
I told D last night that I'm going to start making a music blog because every year ( we watched the grammy nomination concert thingie) they throw someone in there (Bon Iver) whom nobody has ever heard of ... Florence and the machine a couple of years back, then Adele... and I've been listening to these people since they were making music out of the basments and I get bitter.. LOL... but it ticks me off because after they are on a show like that they become very popular and I lose interest. It's great for the artist and everything but not good for my secret stash of amazing music. LOL.
Seems to be the way everywhere at the minute. I finally get what that stupid t-shirt that says "I try to take one day at a time but recently several days got together and attacked me all at once" was talking about. We should Skype soon!
